Most Khobar sites we work on receive customers: showrooms, clinics, cafés, offices with a frontage. That imposes a constraint industrial sites do not have — the system has to work well and be very nearly invisible at the same time.
What we work around on commercial premises
- Routes concealed as far as the building allows. Above suspended ceilings concealment is close to total; where it is impossible we use colour-matched trunking and say so before starting.
- Positions that do not spoil the frontage or the interior lighting while still giving the field of view required.
- Precise coverage at till points: the angle that sees hands, drawer and customer together is worth more than another camera in the aisle.
- Work done outside peak hours or after closing, agreed at the survey.
- In clinics: public areas only. No cameras in examination rooms, without exception.
Three recurring problems in Khobar shops
- 1
A camera aimed at the glass frontage
Interior lighting reflecting off glass at night destroys the image entirely. The fix is angle and position — sometimes moving the camera a single step — not a more expensive unit.
- 2
Backlight at the entrance
Light coming from behind whoever walks in turns the face into a black silhouette. It is solved by specifying wide dynamic range and by aiming so the camera never faces the source directly.
- 3
A system installed and never opened again
The most common of all: the disk filled or failed months ago and nobody noticed. A short periodic check prevents discovering that at the worst possible moment.
Privacy is not a distant legal abstraction here: a camera that records inside a neighbouring unit or a residential entrance creates a bigger problem than it solves. We review coverage directions at the survey precisely for this reason.
What you get at handover
A configured system, short training for whoever will use it, and a file with the position drawing, equipment details and the credentials that only you control. We keep no access to your system after handover unless a maintenance contract requires it.
